Work in English|Learning Space
Learning Space is an English school in Japan, run by an owner from overseas. The people who choose the school are Japanese parents, so the website had to read naturally in Japanese. The person who keeps it up to date works in English. I built the site for both.
Japanese website, English admin
The challenge
Working in English
A summary of the meetings and emails, from the first conversation to launch.
I sent the first design and explained the structure by email in English.
I reorganized the pages based on the owner's requests and shared a preview link to check.
I explained, in English, how to update the text and photos in the content service.
I listed the remaining tasks and finished them, so the owner could keep the site going without me.
When a request went beyond the estimate, I explained the extra hours first and suggested another way.
I explained the cause of a bug and how I fixed it in English, then took the site live.
What I built
The owner updates pages, photos and frequently asked questions in an online editor. Headings and lists entered there appear on the site as finished cards and sections.
Fonts, header and button colors, footer text, contact email, LINE link and the trial lesson form can all be changed from an admin screen written in English, without touching code.
A guide page shows, in English, where each entry in the editor appears on the website, so the owner never has to guess.
The result
Parents read a website written in natural Japanese, and the owner manages it in English. Notices, fees, contact details and colors are updated by the owner, after launch, without help.
I can build a website your Japanese customers read naturally, and set it up so you can manage it in English. The first consultation is free: 30 minutes, online.
